I was thinking various splitter designs collected in one thread would be helpful and interesting in choosing a design to buy or build. Add different designs and ideas you come across.

This one was on YouTube. Trouble posting. Check out "Leon Snoeck" on youtube. It is a homemade rig for big stuff, from New Zeeland. If someone knows how to post the video, that would be very helpful.

Edit: Perhaps this thread could be a composite of designs to brows through. Start a separate thread to discuss pros and cons, variations, or comparisons. KiwiBro and Agvg certainly have us off to a good start.

It's a bit of a Kiwi version of the USA Tempest, but only one-way.
Needs a conveyor and better log lift. Nice no-handling of the round while up there. Might be useful to have it auto-cycling on smaller stuff so he could keep it fed without needing another person, but this would probably necessitate a slight cradling of the tray to keep the round centred when it is returned back to starting position. Or just put a wider hand on that return mechanism to catch a few smaller rounds at a time. Good adjustable (to a point) knife- could be useful for clearing if ever it jammed up.

Looks like Leon needs to either rebuild his tractor engine or repower that. Splitter with $99 212cc Predator engine from Harbor Freight.
