Work for Insurance Claims.

A neighbors big Oak fell last weekend and took out the power pole and another tree. Wright and the Energy company came out and put the pole back, cut up most of it.

Neighbor wants my tree company to finish the removal and hauling away and is going to make an insurance claim. I have not done an insurance claim job yet. What do I need to make sure I do when taking on a job like this.

When I did insurance jobs I gave the customer an estimate with my business license number and proof I had insurance. The customer then sent this to their insurance company for approval. On the rare occasion I got a check from their insurance company before I even started the job!

I always held the customer responsible for payment. If they choose to make a claim that's between them and their insurance company.

The insurance company usually required multiple competing bids.
