phone picyures 210.JPG phone picyures 211.JPG phone picyures 213.JPG So I had this new system bringing firewood in from the wood shed to the garage with a pallet jack. Was working great till we had this ice storm, then snowed on top of the ice, then this cold weather wouldn't let it all melt. I loaded up before the storm, but....
In Tennessee we don't usally have snow hang around for more than 3 or 4 days. Today I shovled snow and chiped up the ice from the shed to the garage so I could haul in a load. I don't useally shovel the stuff, I just drive on it till melts away. Was only a couple of inches of snow with 3/4 " of ice under it. Changed a 30 min job into a 2 hour project. I shouldn't be such a whinner. I'm sure alot of you guys shovel snow all winter long.

i like the shed and the system!!! snow can be a hassle but i think 3/4" of ice is more of a headache than 4 inches of snow.

Are you on a lake too? Very nice! Except for the husky sign! :D
No, not on the lake. And that husky sign just makes the wood shed.

How big is that shed?
The shed is 10 deep x 22 wide x 7 tall. The front row only is stacked to hold the mountain of tossed wood behind it. I used to stack and tarp before the shed. I can toss and pile 3 times faster that stacking. Shed holdes a good 8 chords which is 2 years for me.

Yah, I kinda hafta work around the weather with my new firewood system too( http://www.arboristsite.com/community/posts/5028647/ ) As anyone who has spent much time on a forklift knows they aren't exactly snowplows. I'm going out to blow snow and bring another rack in here in a couple hours. The only other issue is having to wait until the ground is frozen to haul firewood in, but that will be remedied when I pour a concrete pad between the driveway and the woodshed.
I was low on wood in the house last night, and since it snowed like crazy all day, I just carried some in the old fashioned way, it was the first time this winter I had to do that, it somehow seemed heavier than I remember...

Not only are you a Whiner, you are a World Class Whiner. My driveway is almost 1/2 mile long. I have plowed snow for 18 consecutive days. Some of the piles are taller than me.

The wood stack is >8x8x6' high for reference. I would like a shed. The stack is covered with epdm pond liner. Better than a tarp. This has been a pretty harsh winter with lots of snow. We are going on two weeks of highs in the single digits and lows well below 0.

Biggen, hahahaha..... I have family in Bristol, Biggen is my favorite slang word of you guys. That and I wreckon..... I always thought it was spelled biggun thou.

I have bare dirt on the farm fields this year. I never saw so little snow. The chickens go out and eat grass every day. Last 5 yrs we had nothing but snow. You can have it. Nice woodshed by the way.

dont let anyone beat you up vw splitter. some live farther north and we get more snow. fact of life... most of us have the equipment to plow with... the question is not are you a whiner? the question is why rip on a guy who's smart enough to live in an area where he almost never has to plow? i've plowed my drive many times and had piles over 7 ft tall. i love the snow. if I didn't i'd be your new neighbor. thanks for the pics!!!!
