Workers comp is payroll based. What they mean with "125" is that the insurance premium is 25% higher than their total payroll for tree related wages.
Time to raise prices!
Again this was secondhand information and tree guys do embellish expenses like fishing stories, so take it with a grain of salt
a few years back I was paying very close to 100% on tree wages. I became rather expert at cutting my expenses. You really need to understand how your bill is compiled before if you wish to keep it low.
It's all math.
I think we pay about 5% to 7%, curse our liberal socialist system!
I doubt if your political system has that much to do with it. I'm betting you don't have a screwed up legal system that allows insane lawsuits and equally insane awards. It's all created by the lawyers to assure their continued position near the top of the economic food chain.

Dont cry, just do it
Even if that's there minimum payroll, you can be under that with your actual payroll. But your gonna pay the premium ad if you had 20k in payroll.
