Would you accept this from HL Supply ?

Generally, I have been fairly happy with my orders from HL Supply. However, I received this Hyway cylinder kit from them for a Husqvarna 372. Looks pretty bad. What do you all think? I sent an email this evening to HL Supply asking for a good cylinder or a refund as well as a shipping label for the bad cylinder. Will see what happens. Pretty disappointed when a manufacturer sells this kind of junk. In the past. I thought Hyway cylinders were not badly done.

Looks like it had some air trapped in it when it was cast. Probably not a huge deal but definitely worth a refund or at least half price. If a guy was to port it you would be cutting most of that off anyway!

If it was for my own saw and they knocked it down to half price I would run it

May help air flow through the transfers! Pretty sure porters purposely stipple intake ports (and maybe transfers?) - you got it for free lol.

im sure they’ll honour it and give you a refund.

I saw a poor Stihl OEM cylinder recently where plating was covering ports somewhat, I’d take your cylinder over that any day. At least this won’t change the timing

I received a faulty hyway cylinder once from the guy in Greece, sent him pictures of the problem and he sent me a fresh cylinder with my next order, no problems.
In my case it wasn’t usable at all.

Unless the pictures aren't showing the full extent of it...
Other than being a cosmetic issue you won't even see once installed, I can't see where that would be a problem.
I'm sure they'll replace it, they're good like that but I'd be embarrassed to ask for a return on on such an inconsequential thing.
It is a chicom cylinder after all...

That cylinder may run better like that than if that area were all smooth. The real potential issues are inside; bores out of round, goofy port shapes and heights, plating flaking off after a few hours runtime, etc

Today - The rest of the story - I called and talked with one of the HL Supply staff. He checked out the picture I emailed and called me a few minutes later and said a new cylinder would be in the mail today. Did not have to return the bad one. Good job HL Supply!
