Took a drive out to check on this site. 3 good dead Black Locust, would have made about 2 cord total. It's been on my 'someday' list for several years but I always had trees lined up ahead. It is also on the fringe of my 'harvest range' (30miles). Gone, nothing but some brush left.

At least it looks like it was used for firewood.

There was another site much further away where an entire big grove was dozed down a coupleyears ago and burned in place. Didn't mind too much losing that one.

I've cruised that a couple times - know the guy farming it but the owners are "absentee" and I haven't contacted them yet.

Posted no trespass and driveway (long) chain locked. Looks good from the road. I'll have to check that at the assessor's office, local grocery store didn't know anything about it.

Both those sites have been abandoned for years.

Gotta keep those saws humming or they start to sulk!

I don't think anyone here would ever accuse you of snoozing if you missed out on a tree. If you missed one its probably due to you cutting somewhere else.
