Another saw for the collection (Pic Heavy)

i got this old homlite today. XL-400 Automatic. the saw looks and runs good. The guy wanted 50 bucks for it but i ended up trading him a set of speakers for his truck.

the chain is whipped but thats all it needs cant beat that.

on a side note i got this sweet old snapper tiller today aswell

I would like to correct that... an old Troy-Bilt Horse is easy to work with, therefore it is 'sweet'...

any front tine is suicide, especially in the hard clay that we have around here.

I grew up with an old agway front tine tiller lol they are a riot to run. you guys are right they are a workout. i couldnt pass up the deal on the old girl though. my wife and i are in the process of buying a house right now and we want a garden so it will work for now.

as far as the homie its a runner i wish the chain wasnt junk cause it runs great and sounds mean. any idea how many cc's? i will have to grab a chain for it tomorrow.

Thanks but i am not much of an audio guy. we are in the process of moving and i have been cleaning things out when i found the 8'' optima subs in truck boxes. i asked the guy if he was interested in trading and he said sure. i have had the speakers for 12 years under my bench. i was ready to drop the 50 bucks but i figured why spend money when you can get rid of old junk and get new junk.

From the age of 12 untill I went away to school, one of them whupped my arse all over the garden for mother. Dad loaned it to the neighbor who ran it with a cracked air filter and whiped out the rings. Was I upset? Not in the least.

man when i was young my dad would let me walk the tiller accros the yard to the garden but once the tillen started he grabbed hold. i remember the first time i ran it (13 years old) wow like riding a bull.

It's about 4ci/65.5cc. Basically an XL12 with more displacement. Make sure the fins on the cylinder and the underside of the flywheel cover are free of sawdust/chips/mung buildup. Those saws tend to run hot. I've never handled one that didn't have a roached P/C. Tune it so that it four-strokes at WOT out of the cut, and just cleans up in the wood with a smidge of remaining four-stroke.
