Quick question, would going from a .50 gauge bar and chain to something thicker change the performance of the saw? From what I understand as long as the pitch is the same I wouldnt have to change the sprocket or anything else.
Thanks

The sprocket is the only thing that isn't gauge sensitive. The bar gauge and pitch needs to match the sprocket pitch and the chain needs to match the pitch and gauge of the bar. (and of course the chain's drive link count (length) has to be correct for the bar.
If your bar has a detachable nose sprocket that will fit all gauges but the replacement bar will/not have one fitted anyway.

i guess people just wanted to buy the bar&chain is all good i keeping the others TY, now but 36 in is too big for me LOL
