Hi , picked up a echo 1100vl today but it has a damaged barrel (corrosion) and is missing the top cover , the crank seems to turn freely and the saw looks ok overall , will try and get some pics up tomorrrow.it was expensive($7.00)
sorry about the spelling , it is an 1100vl chainsaw , i may have been a little excited . any one know of any parts arround.

Would be interesting to see the photo's John.
I remember many, many years ago when I lived in Melbourne a shop had an impressive looking Echo on the wall being the largest.
Whether this was the same saw or not I don't know.
I think the 1100VL was 116cc?

BTW, looks like the CS1200 is still available in certain parts of the world

this is the saw as it came , cylinder cover is missing and no b/c and the cylinder is damaged but possibly recoverable with replating . does not look to have worked hard.

Cool find. Parts are going to be harder to come by, but not impossible.

Mr. HE:cool:

How bad is the cylinder ?

You might have trouble finding someone in Australia to re-plate a blind cylinder.
LM Electroplating/Electrosil in Melbourne might be your best bet.

BTW, looks really clean for its age. Nice find.
Allpower are the importers/distributors for Echo, you never know, they may be able to source bits http://www.allpower.com.au/

echo 11oovl

hi , i have rung allpower and they wanted me to go thru a dealer so i am waiting for an answer on parts , looks a lot like cs 1201.if i cannot get parts reasonably will put it out for someone else as already have a few large saws (660,076,090.288,etc)

What's the betting the CS1200 cover is the same as the 1100 ?
If Allpower can't order it in from Japan, maybe get it from Singapore or Malaysia, they'd still be using the 1200 in the rainforests there.

I missed that while posting mine John, good luck.

Echo cs1200 was a hit back in the days among loggers here in South East Asia, i was told it has good combination of chain speed and torque.
As usual Echo's are known for riduculously heavy, parts are hard to come by these days.
My dealer has cs1200 as a parts saw, my guess toasted P&C
