I gotta update my sig again.
I consolidated my Homies in a box into a beautiful 360.
Wholly torque!...Sounds like a bike!
I'm ordering a shiny new 20" Carlton.

This baby was straight gassed, seemingly right out of the box. My neighbor's dad's 360 broke a muffler. He took it apart but the mufflers are expensive and hard to find. He bought or was given this burned up saw for parts. He took it apart and that's how I got them...in a box.
Swapping the P/C out on these is no picnic. Needle bearings and stuff. We youngsters got it easy!

I have one waiting to be rebuilt but can't find that rubber boot thing for the carb/intake. Any Ideas? I've had scattered luck on ebay....:chainsawguy:

kyle has some of them boots

i have the air filters and some other parts on hand

Also have a new brand new cylinder for them the ones that are prior to lot C320

I got lucky. The well used but well taken care of 360 had a new P/C and a new boot. It looked terrible and had chipped and broken pieces....and hardly any paint.
The straight gassed saw looks beautiful. And now it runs beautiful.

Thats a nice looking 360. I had one just like it for a little while. I put a 20" on it and it really didn't do that well with it, pretty animic actually.

It was very quiet though and maybe a muffler mod would have helped it some. On the plus side, the antivibe was very good, it had a good oiler and it handled pretty well.

Thanks sir!
I don't have a bar for it though....unless you count the 32" bar on my XL700.
Will the one off my 306A fit? Just so i can try it out?

The 360 I had used a small Homelite mount bar. The one no longer made and is replaced with a K095 small Husky bar.

The only draw back to the Husky bar is the different drive link count they used. For example a 20" K095 mount bar uses 72dl chains while the original Homelite bar used 70dl.

If your set on useing a 20" bar and would like to stay with a 70DL chain you can use a Z095 bar.

Nah! I wanna see what this saw's got before I settle on a 20" bar.
If it's gutless, I'll get a 16" for it....and sell it. It sure feels powerful enough.
Maybe I'll borrow the B/C off my 346XP.
The 306A bar won't fit unless you take the tensioner out of the cover...and the S clip thing has to come off of course. That has to be removed for the Husky bar to fit too, right?

Actually if your 306 has a D176 (5/16" Slot) mount bar, you can probably try it on the 360. The oil hole wont line up but if your bar has the hole in the adjuster hole to oil from the bottom it should work ok.

Confused yet?

Yup. That's what I did. The adjuster had to come off though.
It cuts pretty good with that 306A 16" bar. I was leaning on it. Seems to have good torque. I think it'd pull an 18" easily, probably a 20". It's piston ported and 57cc. It should.
I do like the 16". It looks right on the saw.

The doner saw is a 360 Automatic. I don't know if that makes a difference.
The piston and cylinder I swapped in wasn't the same. The transfers were closed with little covers on the side of the jug. Looked like a better design. Would make for easy porting that's for sure.

It leans out in the cut . I cut up an 8" limb that just missed my front porch this morning. I could feel it pick right up and then start running out of fuel...didn't like it. I'd pull it out of the wood and it'd idle high for a couple seconds and then settle down. I think the pick up is clogged up or the fuel line is collapsed. I like the saw so I'll take it back apart and replace all that stuff and clean it up better. Put a kit in the carb. Maybe put some rubber on the wires too. It's definitely worthy of a new bar.

Yeah thats what I had thought also, but then I end up being wrong sometimes.

Oh it will pull it but not as well as it should for 57cc. Like I said maybe that muffler is choking it down quite a bit.
It'll pull with an 029 easy. My 346 will kill it though.:spam:

Nice work. So the 360 was 57 ccs. Now Homelite also had the Super XL at that time with 59cc. Id imagine the difference was the anti-vibe? Also I have never heard anyone saying the SXL was underpowered even with a 20"B&C. I have had a bunch of SXL's and have an XL12 and SXL right now. I dont know too much about the 360, it looks similar to the 330 I had, then sold.

The anti vibe is nice. I loved my XL-12 but it made my hands itch. I wore gloves when I ran it.
The 360 is sweet. I caught myself about ten times looking for the chain brake though.
