Found on an antique tractor board...no real information other then it's a rack-n-pinion log splitter.

Believe it's a 1929 dual fuel -- starts on gasoline, then switch to kerosene.

that is the coolest splitter I have ever seen. that's what I want- something unique or homemade/ anything but store-bought looking.
 
Looks like it ought to work, at least on the smaller and straight grain stuff. What's that thing, around 3 or 4 horsepower?
