I have a dead white Eastern pine, and I'd like to cut it down. The problem is that I need to drop it approximately 90° from the way that the bottom of the trunk leans.
The tree is a little odd in that it starts off at about a 30 to 40° angle to the "left" (as I view it from where I want to fell it). Then, it curves and goes straight up for another 50 ft.
The base "trunk" part is probably 8 foot up with this lean, before it straightens out.
I *think* there's enough substance to this thing where I can do a larger sizwheel cut and get it to fall in the direction I want, but I'm not real sure how to judge that.
Any thoughts and suggestions from you more experienced people?
