The only 50cc saw Stihl has is the MS 261 and it sells for $569-$589. I would say the closest saw to compare it to is the Husky 450 which sells for $399.

The best saw for that price range is the Echo 490. See when a Echo dealer near you is having their 1 day sale and save 20%. They can also be had on Ebay for $300 with free shipping.

I bought a 261 a few weeks ago. I'd like to see Washington win it. Ovechkin deserves one before he retires soon.

I've made my living doing tree work for 22 years with a Mini Mac, a Wild Thing, a dump trailer, and rusty clapped out 1979 ford pick em'up truck. The saws are replaced every year. Who cares the work gets done and the customers are happy.

Not sure about the bigger saws but i put a Stihl bar on my Echo 2511TS and i had to make the adjuster hole a little longer for the chain to fit and it oils fine. This is a 12" bar though so i don't know how a longer bar would oil.

Yes it has the EL48. It was made the 51st of 2015. Mine is a few weeks newer(3rd week in January 2016) and it has the EL48.

I think PPE gives some a false sense of security. I always wear glasses (Oakley sunglasses), gloves, boots, earplugs, and my Kask helmet. I took the earmuffs off because i hate muffs, they make my ears fill with sweat.
