I put the 52mm BB kit on my 365. Can I use a Meteor piston for a 272, or 281 in that saw? I want to have a better piston and ring setup broke in before the GTG without buying an xpg OEM piston kit.

i think maybe the bigbore woodland pro is slightly difrent bore size then 372 meteor replacement pistons.

basicaly im bumpin this to top for the pros to see.

ill see if i cant find out the answer in a sec

i only see a 50mm meteor piston listed.

I am pretty sure the 281 is out of the picture..it has longer stroke...not sure about the 272. You need to check the stroke....

Piston length and wrist pin offset are different measurements. It is not a direct replacement, you would need to calculate your timing numbers to determine piston or cylinder height modifications.

yes..the xp is 50mm...but there is another husqvarna/piston for the 372 ..that is 51mm and some people refer to it as the husqvarna BB

I'm to lazy to look it up...but it is the cylinder/piston that is on the 372(xyz???don't want t0 look it up) Baileys was selling...

Jacob, are there any 52mm rings I can use?

Jason-

Here's what I've done in the past with 365/375 Bailey's big bores:

038 Magnum piston and rings: correct crown height and wrist pin diameter, had to machine out the wrist pin bosses to clear the wider Husky rod by 1.5mm on both sides. Skirt length was slightly shorter than the included Bailey's BB 372 piston.

272 piston and ring: correct wrist pin diameter, slightly taller crown height. I used a 2mm base gasket. Made a good running saw. Skirt length was about the same.

064 piston and rings: correct wrist pin diameter, but crown height quite a bit taller so I turned this one down for a pop-up. Skirt length was slightly longer so I trimmed the skirts, it made a real good running saw.
