what did they use in the texas chainsaw movie??
i like the in saw we trust engraving
i would like that saw

The first one they used a Poulan 306A, the second one they used a Dolmar 100something series, probably a LARGE 120super with silver paint on it, a homelite XL2, a Mac 120, and a Husky 61Rancher. the third one, they used I think a Stihl 038 with some chrome on it, the 4th one a McCulloch Pro Mac 10-10, the newest one, I believe was a beat up Husky 357Xp.

I've got all of the movies, so I can tell you because I've watched em REPEATEDLY, just to know what models they used.

I thought they were bigger than that. I can remember in one of the old ones
they had something like a 48 inch bar on it.

The longest bar they had was 36" which was on the Dolmar in TCM2.

A little bit of interesting side info, in the original, they actually used a real chainsaw, with REAL chain on it, just inches from the actors faces, which must have been mucho scary for them. all the other movies in the series, they used real saws, but not real chain, or they removed the sprocket and clutch from the saws.

most of the time you could see the chain stopped while the engine was revving. In the old ones.

I think that took away from the realism of the movie, made it suck somewhat. it just looks right when a saw is revving, if the chain moves too. otherwise all you have is a rally heavy sword of some kind.
