ok, im pissed off, we went to cut some wood today with my dad and after 1 and half tankfulls of gas my saw decided to break... Sparks flying and rattling from saw and shut it down...

Opened it up and noticed 2 longish iron pieces, like from brake band (which is ok) and magnetic dust all over the cylinder + scrape marks on flywheel...

My quess is that handle heater element under flywheel broke up and most likely made a hole in crankcase too (it throttles without throttle)...

????ing great christmas :angry2: :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

I feel sorry for you Blis......:bang: :bang:

..but your saw is quite new, isn't it - probably the warranty will cover it......

The Witch sends her regards, and says that it must be production error, that should be covered by warranty.....

Yeah still under warranty, but nothing makes me mad like having to leave from forest too early becouse saw breaks <.<

would have still got half tankfull of gas left and the weather was awesome...

Well I had to leave due to rain

What ever happened to a white Christmas? I went out and was bucking up some ash tops. Then I spotted a rather nice dead ash still standing.. ..I felt like wanted to hear something fall.. So down she came abdout 18inches DBH. Will make some great farwood. If the rain lays off I will go out with either the maul or the splitter..and bust it up and bring it back to the house.
I went to the garage this morning to get the truck, found out the wife was using it for our taxi to haul the daughter to work.Irks me.. We have a carthat gets 35 mpg and the wife drives the diesel truck 4x4 dually? Why don't they ever stop and think?Never mind dumb question.. LOL
Did not mean to steal the thread. Take it back and get a new one.. Tell em you do not wish to have it just fixed..See what they say.

We had two saws, but my dad was cutting with 242xp...

It you two usually cut together, you need at least one backup saw between you......;)

Just if i had the money to get another saw :help: :help:

+ on more than one saw!

I carry four saws in the boxes on my truck when I go to the woods(along with gas, oil, tools), and a lot of times I carry five or six of my saws. If I start to dull a chain or run out of gas, I just grab another saw and keep on going! :rockn:

Quicker to touch up the chain and re-fuel than clean 4 or 5 saws when you get home.

:chainsaw:
sorry your husky was a piece of trash after so little time. you should by a stihl:jester:
merry christmas to all

Mishaps aren't usually brand related, they just happen from time to time (but not to me yet)..... :givebeer:

More comfortable to clean, fuel and touch up chains in the comfort of one's warm garage. Plus, if you have the saw's, they're begging for the run time. Don't want any saw's getting jealous :D

That is a good point, but if you are only having a few, like me and many others, there may not bee too much overlap in what use they perform their best for......
