I put this together for an older friend of mine I communicate with by snail mail. He likes to know what I get up to occasionally woodwide . It sort of summarises what I got up to in 2007.

Thanks for posting that..neat There are some very talented go getters on this forum.

Nice collage Bob

Very nice collage Bob . Did you use powerpoint to do it , or some other program?

Thanks Guys
Very nice, Bob.
One question: The first column, second row...what is that?
That is probably the world's fanciest push block - for pushing small pieces of timber through a table saw. All the grimy details here. It's made from an usual acacia timber commonly called "raspberry Jam" because that's what it smells like when it's cut. One of my favourite woods but it's very rare to get trees bigger than 12" in diameter.

Neat stuff Bob... I was gonna ask why you would take the time to make something that could potentially get pretty banged up (you should see my push blocks, they take a beating)... but then I read more of that thread and you answered my questions when you said

"I have no real firm idea why I make tools/jig like this other than the satisfaction of (whenever I can) making everything as functional and attractive as possible. Sure I could use MDF but why shouldn't shop tools and jigs be functional/attractive/tactile, after all we spend a lot of time using them. If they get cut or damaged, hey, that's life."

Keep on posting your "artwork"... nothing you bore is boring. (little woodshop humor there... :) )

I was to a Woodshow in Baltimore, MD earlier this year and they had a pushblock quite similar to the one you made. and it really wann't to expensive, but HEY, who wants to buy one when you can have a really pretty one like that.
