    Echo/Shindaiwa crank seal replacement.

I have an echo powered mantis tiller that I’m having trouble with. Circa 1988, 21cc - sv4b engine I replaced the coil a couple years ago and just cleaned the carb last week. But it ran poorly.. It will start, and idle, but it hunts when you give it more gas. The hotter the engine the more...

    Echo CS-800p setup for milling?

Just picked up a CS-800p with a 2o" and 36" bar along with a few chains for $225. Ive got a 36" granberg mill that I've been using my cs-590 with a 27" bar on, but it tends to struggle. I'm still relatively new to this so I thought I'd ask the experts... First... Are there specific bars that...

Echo Timberwolf CS590 missing oil screw

Somehow my adjustment screw has gone missing. I am having a hard time finding a replacement for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction with a part number? Does the whole oiler need to be replaced? Thanks.

Chainsaw that dies when throttle applied - impulse line?

Hi all. I'm so glad I've found this forum. Been fighting a problem with my saw for months and have been too stubborn to pay a shop to fix it when I know the answer's out there and I enjoy hands-on work. Here's the situation. Have an Echo CS-400 saw that I've used only a couple of hours a...

    Why do you choose McCulloch?

What draws people to McCulloch saws? I've ran Homelite, Poulan, Stihl, Lombard (Knock Off), etc, and so on, but nothing matches the experience that McCulloch gives. For me, especially, it's the 10-10 series. With the double louvered muffler.... It is louder than all hell. I love it. I can...

    Which bar/chain for Echo CS-490

I've been searching for info but coming up pretty dry so far, so I figured I'd ask. I just got an Echo CS 490 off eBay on a whim. I have a 372XT for bigger stuff and wanted a saw I could tinker with and use for odds and ends stuff. It comes with a 20" bar which is bigger than what I'm wanting...

    cs900evl echo

91.6 cc (5.59 cu. in.) I have no history on this saw, I bought it at a local sale. It is in very good shape, runs strong. I put a new 24in bar and chain on it. I like this a lot, it is one of my favorites.

3 saw plan to 2 saw plan

Hi guys, I may be crazy, but I am thinking about changing up my saw plan. I live on 60 acres, mostly wooded. I do not heat with wood, mostly trail maintenance, bonfires, and occasional feeling for a portable sawmill. I find I never use my little stihl 181, I barely use my ported 7910, and...

    My echo cs60s saw project

Picked up this saw for $31 yeah 31 lol It was serviced 5 years ago. Carb looks new. Gaskets look new. One of the needle threads was hard to undo like it had goop on it maybe. Cleaned carb put all back . Set low and high idle to specs. Wouldn't run unless almost in completely turned in and the...

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

Hi, I'm about to buy a second chainsaw and I'm torn between the Makita EA6100PR and the Echo CS 620PW with the wrap handle. Both are similarly priced and seem somewhat close in spec. Both are carried by Home Depot if I order online. The Makita has a 1 year warranty and I do have service shops...

Want to Buy ECHO CS-750EVL clutch cover

Hey everyone, this is my first post here on Arboristsite. I've been on the site for some time now which has helped tremendously in rebuilding some of the older saws. Anyways, I'm trying to piece back together an old ECHO CS-750EVL saw I found right before it was going to hauled off to the...

    This is one expensive hobby

As the title says. What are the your "must have" "Hi-Tech parts" ? 1.Is it the super light weight bars? 2.Is it the best powerful powerhead? 3. Is it the best chain? What is the saws, parts, Hi-Tech goodies that you had to have and if not, you would lose sleep over it. Also what do you like...

Want to Buy Top handle chainsaw, Husky, Stihl, Echo. $300

I'm looking for a top handle saw. My budget is around $300. My boss runs 193s, but I'm not loyal to a brand yet. Husky, Stihl, or Echo. Needs to be in running condition, but not worried about cosmetics. I'd love to see some detailed photos. Thanks guys!

Fix up a CS 452VL or carry on with 2054 Turbo?

Evening folks Just got my hands on a CS 452VL needing some parts and work. I currently have an Alpina 360 and a Jonsered 2054 Turbo (20"). The Echo is heavier but more powerful, and looking at the spec is slightly later (early 80s?) as it has a chain brake. Is it worth the extra weight and power...
