My dad has an old tempermental 015. Very low hours and looks almost new. However, the oiler seems to be working overtime, as it will actually dispense oil on the bar even when the saw is off. When I use the saw, the oil just drips down the side of the bar, the chain gets lubed quite well, but it makes a mess.

I was wondering if it could be debris build up problem or something more serious.

BTW I've been reading this site for awhile now and It's very informative :)

This is a wild guess but the saw might have an adjustable oiler, I know some times they can be hard to spot( some on the bottom, same little lever under the sprocket). If there isn't a adjuster, I would take it apart and look over the oiler and see if any of the rubber seals are dry rottened or cracked. Thats just my 2 cents if that is any help.

Thanks for the reply. The saw is at least 20 years old I'm guessing and only been used a handful of times. My dad bought it off an older gentleman about 6 or 7 years ago, so the seals might have gone bad while in storage.
