The flywheel hit it when the coil got loose. Check the fw closely for damage.
I don't think it got loose, no damage to the fly wheel

Then somebody already replaced it. Magnets don't like impacts and loose strength.I don't think it got loose, no damage to the fly wheel
Did the business card trick, still no go. Cleaned all contact points, still no pop. Mabey I have a bad coil...?Not sure if it works for this model, but I've always been told a business card is a good gauge and seems to work for me. Put the magneto the furthest away from the coil, loosen the coil, slide the card in, spin the magneto so it's closest to the coil and the card is pinched between them, tighten the screws and slip the card out.
Where did you get the coil and how do you know it is the right one?Did the business card trick, still no go. Cleaned all contact points, still no pop. Mabey I have a bad coil...?
Got the coil at the stihl shop. OEM.Where did you get the coil and how do you know it is the right one?
BTW, coil gap is .008"-.012" so you need to find a relatively thin business card and/or get out your calipers and measure.
How do you know? Open the gap to about 1/4 inch and try. If it jumps that it is NOT a little spark..now I have very little spark
Highly unlikely. Can you put up a photo of the markings on the coil?Maybe I have a bad coil...?
Thanks that worked on a 60 year old Remington switch.Spray WD-40 or ARC Electronic Parts Cleaner in the on-off switch then blow it clean with compressed air. Try it now and post results on here.
Where did you get this great idea?If you have an old plug you can open the gap and see if you can still see spark.
