I got this saw about a year ago. Dirty but not used heavy, looks like a firewood saw rather than a tree guy or production use. Compression feels great. Some slight scoring on ex side. Looks worse in the picture, I couldn’t feel it. Compression is 180psi. Cold no oil. Interesting it came with a new plug. Seems to have been put aside for no spark. I’m going to pull the jug to get a better look. The piston has the machine marks still, I cleaned one up on a Dolmar and it remains clean after plenty of use. The cylinder remains to be seen. 4548FEB9-498F-4DA9-8A8F-A52712C3B200.jpegFC838DEE-DE95-4A38-B7D3-ED2247FC6226.jpegDE517743-4FE9-402C-B3FF-382F88E38A12.jpeg3FEA16B1-D073-4955-835D-FF727C0F532C.jpeg

This saw is one I will add. Will fit in nice with my 80s-90s stihls 034,036,038m,044,064. I have no problem putting a new piston on, but I think the piston will clean up. I’m sure I can clean the jug if it has some marks.

Really nice. My MS460 is my go to and I've always wanted to add another one to my collection. Just a straight, reliable, no BS power saw.

Still puts a smile on my face every time she's making chips.

Mine was pulled from a dumpster in much worse condition. I made a thread about it years ago...found it.

If you got the right stock cylinder on that 046 she will be a runner.

I rebuilt one for a guy over a hour away from a box of parts he brought in. Was a D shaped 046 cylinder.

I tested same cc 475 against it and it literally took the 475 lunch money. I couldnt believe it with it being on first tank after rebuild.

After that when I got a G466 later on and it was lacking with the afm cylinder. I went looking for same cylinder. That woke that china doll up too. My cylinder in pic. D cc

Interesting. Ill be curious to see what is has. Any giveaways/differences from the outside the head?
Also, on the piston picture, the only marks are on the right side. The dark streaks in the middle is some old mix residue.

Looks aftermarket to me but tough to see, don't OEM have 1128s on side from mahle and an a or b circled at top? Handle sticker suggests a 2000 model, what's up with the funny pull handle

I wouldnt concern myself over the flippies unless u wanted an original OEM D cylinder that likely was only on earlier screw cap models

But personally I run 400c and 462 for less vibration and 044 046 saved for zombie apocalypse
