I brought my 46 pro (Stihl) into the shop for a new sprocket and the dealer mentioned that I could put a different muffler on it that will increase the power. He said this is a factory approved modification that will not void the warrenty
Is this true? Should I do it?

Yes.

The fact that you have the dealer change a sprocket tells me that you'd rather cut with a saw than work on it. If you were more mechanically inclined, I'd suggest modifying your own and saving the bucks, but in your case I'd buy the other muffler. :)

Do a search on this site on "muffler" and you will find everything you ever wanted to know about hot rodding your muffler
