Darrel is that lower handle still holding you up? If it is, I can send you one to get you going, just replace it when you can. I have a couple good ones ( and a few messed up ones :) ), just need a good sanding and paint.
Still needing one, Rocky. It's not really holding me up that much, as I need to get the saw tore down & get the manual oiler mod done & bearings/seals. I just kinda want the saw complete BEFORE I take it apart so, when I reassemble it, it's ready to go together.

BTW, sorry for the slow reply. There's been a bit going on here without any alerts AGAIN. I realized it when I came on here this am to let ya'll know there was a new 076 thread in the chainsaw section. By the time I read all the posts that I've missed, Poge already found the new thread lol.

DDave sent me ol' #4 the other day. He wouldn't even let me pay the freight. Rocky sent me the 4mm balls & a nice pair of bar studs with the same terms. Can't thank you guys enough!

Upon receiving the case, I started scrutinizing the drilling project. The passage coming from the exterior opening to the intersection of the inner passage is nearly an inch long. It's a smaller passage (#32 drill bit) than the auto oiler passage. A hole that small going in 1" leaves very little margin of error on the angle, therefore, devising a jig will be essential for accuracy. I'm still brainstorming on the best way to do that.

Good news on the PDF creator front here, too. Finally found a really cool one that did the trick and I just finished up the last of the jpg's a few minutes ago. Worked out great. All I need to do now is find a suitable hosting site for the files and we'll be all set. Will let everyone know once I get that sorted out and everything uploaded.

carb is on the way with some 55 seals n stuffz
...

All received and the carb cleaned up nicely. Wasn't bad at all, but we still flushed some crud out of the innards with a few cycles through the USC. Did my best to match up your scarlet and gray color scheme on it usin' some o' the YF's old fingernail polish. Hope it matches up ok.

dude that is downright silly :)

Thanks. I hope they do some good! But DDave also deserves a bunch o' credit for loaning me all that stuff in the first place!

I'm exploring other hosting options so the files can be opened online instead of needing to be downloaded. Will update accordingly.

Getting ready to upload the 045/056 stuff here in a few also and will shoot ya the link. Not near as much documentation....3 or 4 files.

Thank you also Dave!! That's a lot of scanning!! I remember when I first joined this site nobody had a pdf of the 045 manual so I scanned it and sent it to a site Dibbs was using. What a pita! I had to do it like 3 times to get it right, lol!

I feel your pain!

Everything I documented was with the camera in my phone jes takin' pictures of the pages in Dave's manuals, hence some of the inconsistencies. But it was actually much faster than using a scanner..., and with very high resolution. Just wish I would have discovered the particular PDF app I ended up using a long time ago!

Anyway, the 045/056 stuff should be accessible via the same link I provided for the 1111 stuff. If it doesn't work, lemme know.

I just scored an 051 complete for $20, no idea if it runs or not though. Do these saws have the same issues with coils as the 031 and 041?

You will be struck by lightning any second now...

Was that meant for me? A guy on our local auction site is shutting down his chainsaw repair business and moving it to his home and wanted to get rid of his old trade ins. If you like big Jonsereds there was a couple of 90cc ones that went or the same price.

Not sure if the actually went, the ads were taken down because the saws have no chainbrake, I told the guy I could put him in touch with buyers for the saws if he wants. $20 is a slight exaggeration, I got a 031, 041 and 051 for $80 .

Well, are you aware of the "You Suck" award around here? You definitely qualify . Have any pics?

Unfortunately, shipping would probably be a deal breaker.

Yeah one of my early posts was a "you suck"when I scored a brand new 441 magnum for $350 because the woman selling it thought it was worthless without the bar . Now I try and keep my chainsaw purchases to under $100 a saw to limit my CAD , I posted my second you suck when I scored an 070 for $100 with a 36 inch bar that runs like a dream.
The new saws should turn up tomorrow, I doubt the 051 runs but hopefully its all there.
BTW the reigning you suck champ must surely being Pioneerguy, suckage on an industrial scale right there.

Well guys I finally found a few cranks and bearings for the old school 050's diamond Dave sent me. They will go together at some point. Got one case sanded down and painted really nice. Just waiting on parts. Figure the only way I'll get any cash for this one is if I make it a super and modify a few things. Perfect paint is critical though. This I have come to realize. Darrel every rear handle I come across has either a hairline crack somewhere or stripped screw holes. I have seen a few fly though the bay pretty quick for 50$. Set your search up to followed searches on your smart phone and you'll get a notification when one comes up. I'm having trouble finding good ones to build with. These old saws have seen 40 years of being tossed around. You want a good rear handle buy a rock saw, well protected with the rubber feet. Heading to Fla to see mum, maybe for the last time, God Bless, B
