Im new to this forum this is my first post. I just bought an old 056 super they tell me the moter is 5.3 cubic inches what is the cubes on a 064?. I am thinking of using it in a couple of saw races at local county fairs and will be going up against 064s.

064 manual in front of me:
displacement 85cc 5.19 cu.in.
bore 52mm 2.05 in.
stroke 40mm 1.57 in.
compression ratio 10:1
power output 4.8kw (6.5 din hp) @ 9000 rpm
max torque 5.45nm (4.0 lb. ft.)@6500 rpm
max permissible
engine speed
W/ bar and chain 12000 rpm

I'd probably agree with that. A lot of the older saws have loads of power and torque, but chainspeed doesn't cut it these days. Good for logging, not so hot for racing.

Hmm. Just looking at the specs for my big Jonsey, and they say that its power is rated at 7,500 RPM!

If you want an 056 super to kick butt on a 064 just send it to me. I will do the neccessary tweaking to make it a winner in your competition. We can also have it set so you could use it in the woods after the races were over. Mike

056

An 056 was not a slow saw. I don't consider 12 to 13 grand slow. With the power they have, I will bet a few in the right hands would still give today's saws a run for the money.

Thanks guys for all your input. Rupedoggy I'll think about your idea but first I want to run it against some of my friends 064s and see where i'm at it looks like I have more power and torque and about the same speed with a tweak or two I'm going to have some fun not to many people seem to remember much about the 056 except that it was a loggers saw. I don't need this saw for every day use i have other saws for that i will get this saw set where i want it and then use it once in a while around my mill to buck a log and keep it for the fairs:)

Saw an old 056 at a garage sale about 10 years ago. it was in great shape and they wanted $175. I turned a buddy on to it, I had just bought an 038Magnum 3 months earlier. He still has it and uses it as his big stump saw.
