OK that is an 066.
Was it soaked with oil in the pump area or was it dry in there?

it was like in the picture when I took it apart this evening, but it was packed full of sawdust and oil when I took it apart last week.

There were a few minor things gone from the saw when I got it, like the nylon blocks on the sprocket cover, and some of the vibration dampners need replaced too, I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some wierd part that I needed that wasn't there. I have a manual, but no parts list.

What is the spring in that picture's purpose?

That is part of the chain brake mechanism. It is what holds the handle up. If you are carefull to keep it from poping out then you can move the CB handle and see how it works. The first time I did it I didnt hold it or something (cant remember) but the spring went up on a pop fly to the outfield.

not the coil spring, the spring that is on the crank it attaches to the plastic worm that runs against the oil pump piston.

it's pointing at like 1 o'clock in that picture. In my manual it's referred to as "worm and spring", but can make no sense of why it's there. it's got like a pointer that is over a screw in the picture.

Hole ?

Question
Is that a hole corroded in the case above the rear bar stud?
Start the saw with the clutch and drum but leave the side cover and bar off of the saw. See if oil doesn't come out of that hole.

Yeah, it's the pump drive, but it looks a little oddly mis-shapen and colored, doesn't it?  Does it fit nicely in the notch on the back side of the clutch drum rim without rubbing on anything else?

Dan, what hole?

it looks drilled in there

i'll play with it some tomorrow, and see if the passage goes anywhere, but it just looks like a dead end at first observation.

Be careful, there are many here who will want to buy ( or pilfer) this politically incorrect pump. Sleep with it in your off hours, never let it out of your site.

I have part #1122-640-3201 as the high flow oil pump for the 066. What gives?

Shade, the thin land of metal obove the oil outlet port looks kinda rough where it's supposed to seat against the bar. I would expect that to leak, especially if the bar oil hole was clogged.
Has anyone tried epoxy there?
