will the large rubber guard fit the small side cover? or does is the radiused extra rubber too close to the sprocket. Just going to be using an 8 tooth. But I want the extra "tail" guard....

I'm trying to cut back on fried foods so I don't do curly fries,,,,,, :sucks:

I'm not joking........never have used a saw with the full size cover.
Thought about one for 440........but if they clog.......I don't

OK...........When splitting Oak rounds (curly fries) do the
full covers clog up easier than the standard (shorter covers) ?

I don't notice it,,, it was a concern I had, but usually when it plugs, it is were the curly-ques round the bend, not were there sposta fall out. The longer cover gets wider or flairs out at the bottom that seems to help.

Thanks..............I have yet to use the new cover on the MS440
Going to see if dealer will trade with some boot
Around what is the price difference between the two?

Works for me

I like the rubber flap. So I installed them on every Stihl I own.

Full size cover is on the left. Metal cover #1125 648 0402 is in the center and on the right is a plastic cover #1125 648 0403.

I wasn't sure that the plastic cover would hold the flap in place, so I "helped" it with some Gorilla Glue.

Ask me If I care:popcorn:

I sure wouldn't use a large defector on the small cover - real hard to lock it in when it's a different shape.

I agree,,, I have two 66's with the big flared cover and both have the large flap,, just need to get the metal tank protector/guard for my Modded 066,,,,,
