picked up an 075 av today for 150.00. old bar and chain, but runs strong and starts easy..needs all new rubber mounts and the shroud for the muffler is damaged..i'm thinking of changing the sprocket and going to 3/8 050........the old chain looked bigger, perhaps 404......what ya all think about my price and my chain coversion idea?

Sounds good. If the saw has good compression, it's worth $150 even with bad rubber mounts. If the bar and sprocket are worn it would be just as easy to set it up with 3/8" when you replace them. .404 is more expensive and harder to come by, 3/8" will work fine and be easier to buy.
Sounds like you will have a killer saw for less than $300. I'd put a big bar on it and save it for big wood. Cut the smaller wood with a smaller saw. A 24"-28" bar would be a waste on a saw that size, probably go with a 36".

$150's about right on the top end for one in that shape. Great saws, and parts are available because it shares most with the TS-760.

111ccs... That one extra cubic centimeter keeps me from claiming my favorite toy one notch up the ladder. :)

just curious as to what that 075 weighs.
i picked up a 294 husky at the mechanics shop yesterday. think it weighed about 94 lbs.:)

Guff's 075

I had an 075, and thought it was a pretty good saw. Sold it to a guy on this site, z4lunch. I wouldn't worry about changing the driver, because that saw is a torque monster. I now have an 066, which I like a little better because of the weight savings. The 075's are 'bout indestructable. If you need a 36" bar and chains, let me know. I still have them.
