MB if you cannot find a handle just go to a big bikesaw race and find yourself a rotax with the stock handle on it , it is the same handle but i am sure there are lots on here

I'll admit I don't regularly look for 090s, but the last one or two 090G's I've seen didn't go for very much. A well-used one with a long bar went for something like $250-300 last year.

Hmmm... so maybe just one Franklin? Two at the most, eh?;)

I mean, I don't even have a need for this saw, other than bragging rights. And whupping it out when the 066 can't cut it...:dizzy:

I jes wan et!

Regardless of what something's worth, my personal guide is always to give the lowest you can without royally screwing the owner. $100 is a decent amount of money for an old chainsaw in not-entirely-known condition.

I wouldn't offer an old lady $15 for her dead husband's Stihl BLK, but I wasn't feeling any guilt when I bought a mint 1959 Delta metal/wood 14" bandsaw from a shop teacher/contractor. :)

My big Jonsey cost me $35 originally (needed about $50 in parts) in totally unknown condition. While that was pretty low, the seller set the price and wanted it out of his shed.

I have tried to scan a copy of what you need. If is is the handle (#1 in picture) it is 1106-790-0302 It should run $29.40. If it is the handle support (#13 in the picture) the part number is 1106-791-7600 and it runs $11.40. I know the support is available as I just pick one up today. It was on back order for a month but it did arrive. As everyone else said if you get it and want to make a buck give me a shout. I can put it in a good home with it's brothers.

John, send me that old lady's #, I will give her $20.:D
Actually, I bought a Delta wood/metal bandsaw, AND a Unisaw, both mid-1940s vintage ( bandsaw has cast iron wheels ) for $500 from a widow who was selling her late husbands tools. I knew for a fact that someone else would have bought them and sold them at a nice profit, so I didn't feel too bad at all. I use them all the time and maintain them well.

As a rule if I'am going to buy the seller has to price his merchandise(everybody has a idea of what they want for something, what it's worth to them).I would'nt wave anything in front of him.Make him price the saw.

hate to advise somebody that probably already knows how to trade. but try
approach it llittle,, at first mabe see if he would take mabe a good used smaller saw for it ..u mite send up red flags if u start at 2hundred.. not that u should be chincy about payin for it but ,,u liable to get him curious ,u go after it to hard.. dont mean to tell u ,,u buisiness. good luck..

A friend od mine had a good tactic for these negotiations. When someone woulfd say "make me an offer" he's offer about 4 time what the thing was worth. The seller would be caught off guard and usually come back with "You'd pay that much for this?" To which my friend would replay" No, but now we have a price to start haggling from" This has broken the ice for me several times as well.

Thanks for all the good info, guys. I'm gonna wait a little while so he doesn't think I'm too anxious. The saw ain't going anywhere.

I'll probably tell him that, after consulting with you guys, tha price range was 100 to 200, and I'll offer him $150. The saw is kinda beat-up.

I've a semi just thinking about it.

So. Who do I send it to? I don't wanna get it all modded out, but I do wanna open up everything on it that can be opened up. And get it all fit as a fiddle.
Am I nuts fot wanting to get it all painted and everything?

Please advise this closet-bigsaw-lover climber! :blob2:

Hi Butch, glad you got the club, now all you have to do is pry that 041G off of Rich. Both are torque crazy and will double as post hole augers. You got a good deal Butch. I have one here but haven't assembled it yet.

Video clip of a gear drive saw? My computer is slow enough as it is. That could take all day for me.

Err, I ain't gonna crank it. I'm headed out to td an elm across the street from the guy today. When I hit the ground, I'm picking it up.

I'm stoked!!! :blob2:

Ohhhhh, Dan Henry! Got time for another saw? :)
