lets see who all has hit it during this recent cold snap, yesterday morning here in central Iowa I made 85 degrees so I got close, was 13 below outside and the house was at 72. the part I was the happiest about was i loaded my G2+ Polar at about 9pm the night before and I only used about half the load. I am running 1500 of storage with it though so that makes it a bit unique, I do like these 2 loads per 24 hours even with temps like that. The low yesterday being 13 below and the high was 3 above, and it still only took 2 loads in 24 hours. I wish I could say other things played as nice yesterday, my well pit froze up at some point during the day so had to bust out the heat lamp and am hoping for the best.

It's been a brutal winter here, several nights below 0* and lots of snow.
Not quite sure what type of stove you're describing.
My CB 5036 runs at 165* - 175* and the house stays 73*.
It's a hydronic system " hot water under the floor " .
I fill the stove every 12 hours and have been through 6 1/2 cords of oak so far.

Let’s see who has hit 100? Lmao, it’s cold here again and hopefully the final cold snap. Burning good hardwood all week, stove is hot, house is warm… Lot’s of us are winning I guess.

I had 78 in the cabin and -18 a couple weeks ago. That makes 96°. Close but not there.

The Woodstock stove was ripping.

Have been a few years ago in Minnesota, temps where -25 or so below and wife seems to run the wood burner a bit warm, wall thermostat says 78 or so. When using just the wood burner, the temp in the basement is in the very low 60's to high 50's, so need a blanket to watch television.15037.jpg

@Marley5 mine is similar to yours, a hydronic heater that I run a water to air exchanger to heat the house and plate for DHW, I run 1500 gallons of insulated storage along with the 200ish gallons the Polar holds on it's own. The Polar is a downdraft gasser that is very capable of going to full idle for extended periods, 72 hours of idle has been my longest so far with a full self relight ( no match needed) and gasification within 5 minutes at most. my old house is only like 1400 sqft give or take on the main floor but basement obviously is heated as well with the same foot print, walls are poorly insulated, if at all, the attic is good, have 2 feet of blown in cellulose, my second year with that. it takes a fair bit to heat the place, 30s and 50s construction, may have had some insulation added when it go aluminum siding and vinyl windows but I am uncertain as to that.
