Well, just the other day I was thinking that I never find much on CL that lights me up. I look at the CL's from the northern states and they are full of 70+cc pro saws. Around here, there's never much other than the Poulan's and overpriced 290's. Imagine my surpise when I noticed a Jacksonville CL for a JD. I clicked and saw the price: $100. I couldn't believe what was in front of me. I grabbed the ph and texted the guy. He responded first thing yesterday morning: he had the saw and it was a 66. Unfortunately, yesterday was a day I was committed at work to a 10 hr day and then church. The saw was there and I was here, and there wasn't much to do other than pray that the saw was still there today. I exchanged quite a few texts with the owner. He agreed to hold the saw. Now, this isn't my first rodeo, and I knew the chances of this saw lasting another day was slim, but I didn't have any choice. I told him I would meet him first thing this morning and he agreed. I had a 70mi one way drive. I took off early, as soon as the wifey cleared out, and made the easy drive. Literally, 1.5mi from where they guy was to meet me, traffic came to a standstill. I called and told him. He said there was a semi overturned. I told him I would be there ASAP. 10 minutes later I called again and said I had moved less than 100yds. I called him back 20 minutes later and told him I had moved another 100yds. Fortunately, he said he knew a backyard route to get close to where I was at. I managed to get on the shoulder of the road for another 100yds and pulled off onto a side road. A couple of minutes later the seller comes driving up...I couldn't believe this was actually about to happen!!! He is one the ph with someone he is selling a lawnmower to when he gets out of the truck. He unlocks his toolbox and motions me to open it. There is this saw. While he is still on the ph, I check it over, check for mix, and pull it over. It starts on the second pull!!! I ran it for a couple of seconds, tipped it from side-to-side, and it didn't miss a beat. I shut it off and sat it in the trunk. About this time, the seller was off the ph. I asked him if he would take less he said no, that he has someone call last night and offer $150 but he told them it was sold!! I didn't bicker, and paid the man!!!!

So, here is my $100 JD 66SV

The only blemish on this saw is the broken kick plate.

I was adding the pics from my ph. It is much easier to do it through Tapatalk than through the forum.

I already have two 610's. One has very light scoring on one of the pistons, the other one has ignition issues but is fine otherwise. My plan is to take the 610's and make one good runner, then sell off the parts on Ebay to fund my retirement!! Does anyone know if there are other models that use the same tank as the 610/66?

Does the saw have an automatic oiler, or is that an adjustment for the manual oiler? Or does it have both? Pretty interesting looking saw you got there, congrats!

Just in case anyone doesnt know, this is a rebadged echo *twin cylinder* saw. Serious great score!

The ajuster on top is for the automatic oiler, the little knob on the side is the ajuster for the idle.
A lot of older Echos have these features, think they hated screwdrivers.

greetings from Holland

Jos.
