Sad that it’s a 16 bar so I will find a home for that I think with a coworker.

I know one of these plugs on the top cover is a decomp valve, what is the other ?

What are the threads I’m seeing in the center of the shroud nut? It’s still stuck. Will try some heat tonight and the hand impact.

Ordered that piece and the brake guard . Muffler needs some prying, the front is somewhat crushed

Popped the muffler off last night and the piston and cylinder looked great. Put fresh red armour 50-1 mix in and got it to fire up.

For the deep clean, should I make a little bolt on cover for the port opening so I can blast it without the muffler on? I’m assuming duct tape won’t stay. Was thinking a little sheet of plastic cutting board, or wood

Glad to hear it runs and P/C looks good. When you get it tore down for cleaning check if P/C is OEM Stihl, KS or Mahle.

You can make block offs for the muffler and carb from inner tubes, just bolt the parts back on over the rubber. I'll use air to knock off the loose material and stuff you've scraped loose before using diesel and brushes. I'm not a fan of pressure washers on a saw unless it's getting stripped to bare cases.

Is it possible to convert it to 3/8 picco? If the current bar is kept what is you favorite Stihl semi chisel ?

If the bar is 16" 0.325 keep it. Once you have the saw running you can clean/true the rails, check the drive sprocket and clutch drum bearing, and think about new chains, 26PM or 26RS.

During clean up pull the clutch housing cover and clutch, clean up behind clutch and oil pump area. Clutch is left hand thread. Do this and remove flywheel before taking off cylinder, if you choose to do so.

Threads fit the stud in the cylinder, that holds the cover. Note Stihl logo and 1121 (024/026 series) cast into cyl, there is also markings cast in at the cylinder base on the sides.

This is was a filthy, but good running $95 CL 026. It cleaned up well and just needed the bar dressed, new rim, and chain.

Muffler mod done, shroud and other cover cleanings done, half way clean elsewhere. Can I just go buck wild in all the nooks and crannies with the simple green spray? I’ve never had any power equipment get to this level of crud. Photos are post flathead and puck cleaning with some air comp blasting.

Parts in order are new shroud nut and gasket, and brake

Is there a Stihl non safety semi chisel in .325 16” farm boss bar?

Excited to fire up tomorrow and get some jets tuned. Won’t be able to do the High until I get the sprocket and chain

Must be a thing of the modern era and internet forums/youtube- see a small engine 2 stroke muffler- must cut more holes.
