BUT did you try them before you rebuilt them?I ran the disassembled parts in a small tub of Berryman's carb cleaner floated in the main tank.
Just soapy water wasn't cutting it.

Yes and they wouldn’t run without having low at 2+ turns, remember?BUT did you try them before you rebuilt them?
Yes now I do .Yes and they wouldn’t run without having low at 2+ turns, remember?
I’m thinking you didnt do it right. Your tester probably didn’t seal.hi all
l finally got a compression tester
it's reading 90psi
which seems rather low
(l tried the tester on a working saw (husky 425) which read 110 - which seemed low to me too?)
but it seems like "lone Wolf" is right
it's the import piston/cylinder....
lesson learned
(l figured they would wear out quickly, but not two days)
thanks

Pull the saw over untill the gauge stops rising. If you arent getting a decent reading in any other good saws the gauge is off. How about a posting a pic of the gauge fitting where it screws into the cylinder?I'll try again tomorrow
some other saws too
wrong adapter or not tight enough.l thought so too
tried a couple times....
o-ring seemed fine
any tips?
how many times are you pulling? I go until it levels out...should get harder as you go.
Get a different comp testor.threads right in
o-ring compresses
pulling till it stops climbing
doesn't really get harder though
Was the bar and chain on when you drop tested it? If yes, passing. If not, could be low. Get the muffler off and see what the piston looks like. Pressure and vacuum test. Otherwise it is just a guess.
Get a different comp testor.
