I was at the library last night, found a 1967 Popular Mechanics magazine. Funny, many of the ads from over 30 years are still for products that we use here.

(Found a 1959 Reader's Digest too.....really, REALLY glad I wasn't a wife in the fifties.)

This was a ad insert that had never been opened....thought it was interesting:

edit: I attached a smaller sized image in my next post for dialups (this one is almost 1MB, takes too long)

You're welcome, Mange. :)

I just opened that image and it's huge. I'll compress it 50% and see if it's still legible...same image, just smaller file:

good to here from u che.. good post..
che u got a sister.. im looking for an level headed lady with a little appreciation for enjoying life.. but no one nite stands.. just aint my way..:D :D
i know u wondering if tony has gone over the edge.. but no im just looking for an unattached lady,, to make friends an enjoy time with..man gotta know himself .. i just aint made for this solitary life.
and i aint talkin gettin married..
in buisiness u make things happen.
in relationships u let things happen.
my take on it anyway..they told me they would be all over he place but danged if i can find anything but attached ladies wanting some excitement..which is tempting as heck but ,i get that habit an
i may never find what i really want..
like i say che, good to hear from u.. all the good ones are taken..hope the family is well. tony

Back when it wasn't a politically incorrect thing to have a rifle article, a new Stihl chainsaw ad, and a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner on the cover....

That's covering quite a few of my favorite toys right there!:D

(And they are all politically incorrect, of course.)

The Mighty STIHL 090, The Worlds Most Powerful Chainsaw!, 15 Giant Horsepower. I guess they had "higher HP ratings" for saws as well as cars, back then.

Imagine that

This discussion of high hp ratings.came up,several days ago.Sachs -Dolmar was the culprit then.:)

che u got a sister

Two Tony, but they're younger than me....too far away...and both spoken for.

Sorry....wish I could help you. I'm sure this is a rough time for you. You could kill two birds with one stone and hit up some of those mid-week church dinners....get some female attention and a good meal at the same time. You'd have to brush off the wood chips first though. ;)

thanks che.. this gonna be hard to believe ,,but i actually have two suits..
i dislike both equeally.. but ive already started going to the diners.. not just to meet women tho..:D ;)

Ahem, now back to the original post. One mill I did sevice work for supplied the bush crews with 090's and 36" bars for cedar. To keep inventory simple, they had the same saw with 24's with the barker. I reduced the governor spring tension to keep them from blowing up. I could not lean hard enough on the barker saws to stall them

Ahem,
What original post are you discussing?

We were talking about Stihl ads and finding a chainsaw gal for Tony, both
very legit discussions on the topic of chainsaws, of course.

George C is right. Very important subjects. Love and ad's. I have been meaning to bring these topics up a few times, the timing was wrong.
And since George Cloony so gracefully pointed out is the threads topics. :p
