I would like a good long lasting bar...have a 24" oregon laser lite on there now and looking for a good 20"...I can get deals on the GB bars...they any good?
20" bar 7900...which one??

GB Titanium is a great bar. It mounts up and fits correctly with a 72dl chain and either a 7- or 8-pin sprocket, too. Best deal for the money, without a doubt. The ProTop is OK, a bit cheaper and on a par with the Oregon PowerMatch/Windsor SpeedTip.
I recently started running a 20" Cannon on my 7900 and the bar feels to be more precisely made than a brand-new, never-used Windsor Speed Tip I have hanging on my wall-o-bars. We'll see how wear goes over time, but for the price I suspect that it will be good. Only problem was that the 72dl chain was just a hair shy of being too long when running a 7-pin sprocket.
Alternatively, I've had good luck with the Windsor Speed Tip, and others report good experiences with the silvery-looking Total SuperBar/Carlton-branded version. But if you can get the GB Ti for a good price then I see no reason to even think about these.

I will see how much i can get a GB Ti bar for...running the .058 with the 24"...does it make sense to go to .050 with the 20" or doesnt it matter?
Unless you anticipate going through loops like crazy and you're wanting to be able to spin your own from a single roll of chain, I don't see it making a real difference.
I like to keep all of my chains the same guage. (.050 is what I run.)

I also run the Dolmar brand 6400's & 7900's.I have used all the big brands and have found for the money,Dolmar and GB Pro Tops are the best for the bone.Most of the bars I run are Pro Tops. The HV mount(ProTop) and HVT (Titanium) are the same as the Dolmar mount .I use all .050 gauge and never had a problem. I use anything from 16"-32" bars.
