Ex-Climber with CAD
Seems 1 case bolt (left circled in red) stripped out during re-assembly at some point in this 200t’s life. Not much there to drill & tap it larger for any type of heli-coil..
The case (right red dot) doesn’t seem to want to seal or may be distorted as a pressure test shows pretty decent leakage (marked in blue) where the halves meet.
Guess my question is, has anyone had any luck with AM cases if available or if I’m gonna replace it, should I attempt to find OEM.
This top end was straight gassed by the previous owner and I picked it up for $100 & included a meteor replacement. Which also leaves me curious if the case halves caught enough heat to distort where it meets the cylinder? I didn’t ask many questions about previous work done, as I just threw that hundred bucks at the guy and ran home with that saw with a sh*t eatin’ grin on my face
Already have many new parts in it so not sure I wanna give up on it just yet..
Any suggestions?
