Just wondering, mines getting pretty tired. Read a comment here that someone likes it better than the 357xp. It has been a great unit, best saw I have ever owned.

I know where there is a brand new 2063 Jonsered. I
believe they are the same saw. Some one let me know if
I am right or wrong. It's been sitting on the shelf at a dealer
down the road from me for at least 18 months. I think they would
probably get rid of it cheap.

marshallr, I am the one who said that he preferred a 262xp over the 357. Several months ago I started looking for a new (my second) 262xp but to know avail. Dealers laughed at me! They said that was too good of a saw and know one in their right mind would sell one. I agree! In the end I bought a 261 as a backup to my 262xp. They have the same cases however it has a bottom/midrange typr pwr band and does'nt scream like the 262xp. I my opinion the 262/261 has better quality than the 357. I don't care for the translucent tank and combo choke/on-off switch. In general I prefer the 200 series Husky saws. I do have a 371 and a 346xp. However, I would not choose the 346 over the 246!!

246 better than 346xp?

Wow. This seems like a helluva statement after all I've heard about the 346. What is better about the 246? I'm in the market for a good 50cc saw. Should I be looking for a clean 246?

Bruiser, the reason I prefer the 246 is as follows: It has a 2.8 CI powerhead and makes approx. 3.3hp @ 14,000 rpm. The weight is really the same as the 346xp but the 246 has higher quality. A real on/off switch and separate choke lever. A quality air filter and not cheap half turn imitation. The 346xp does have a quick release cover but it does'nt have smart start! You maynot need on a saw of that size but its another plus. The 242xp, 42 special and the 246 shared the same cases but differed in bore size. Don't get me wrong the 346 is a nice limbing saw. I bought mine because of all the HOOP LA about how good they were and decided to try one for myself. As of now I have one 42 special, one 246, one 246 parts saw that is nearly new and the 346xp. If you can find a decent 246,242xp (turns 15,500 rpm) or 42 special at a good price you will not be disapointed.
