Or I can just run the larger saws rated to pull longer bars which has been working for me. ;) the 592XP pulls a 24" bar just fine with a 8 pin.
Well yes, if you have larger saws also. That information was not stated.

Id pick any semi current 70cc saw.
461 462 500i etc.
Im currently running my 461 with just a muffler and pop up piston. Its working well in idaho on big firs and pines.
I also run a 372 piped and ported with a 28, that saw rips and loves high rpm with sharp chain.
The 461 has more grunt on the bottom the 372 is even getting tired, been running it balls deep for 6 or 8 years.

I wouldnt concider anything smaller. Have a 026 alittle modded that i run a bit to clear dirt bike trails. But it never comes with me when cutting firewood

044 is my all time favorite saw with a 20" bar it might pull a 24-28" but I dont think I would be happy with it.

28" bar and our hardwoods oak, maple, ash it is either bigger 70cc or 90cc saws, 460, 461, 372,572, 660,395,592 for me.
