play safe

I know i need to really start to replace and build my saw chest no additions in 3 years.this is all professional use

dont mess your with your 257,there is a big difference between 257 and 357.Im surprised you blew your saw, because 357 is very reliable,i sold a ton of them and quite frankly they were just great.I guess you seized the piston, dont forget if you cut hardwood or firewood always better to run saw a bit richer.

I also have a 357 and I have received a replacement for it from Husky.

I didn't buy the story Husky gave me for calling to replace my saw but when the new one arrived I compared it side by side with the old one. It seems to me that the tank still had the hard plug in from the mfg. There was NO TANK VENT guess what happens when your gas tank get breath eventually you will lean out the saw and burn it up.

The saw they sent me had the tank vent installed correctly I had to get the IPL to figure out what was different. I suspect there where a batch of 357xp saws that where manufactured in 2004 that where missing the vents. Causing lean seizures as EHP has noted already, but I know that if there was a missing tank vent he would be all over that one.
