Who has purchased this saw and what do you think. Is it the same as the regular 372 as being rugged and reliable. Will the full wrap handlebar make it less/more easy to use for general work. I will be using it for cleanup/harvesting downed wood in the 30-50 in size. Tulip poplar and red oak etc.

Thanks for your comments

Welcome Tourtrek. This saw is exactly the same as a plain 372XP. The wrap handle is great if you do any seriuos falling or bucking. Get the big dogs as well, the stock ones are lame and not of much use.

The specs on Baileys site say they are different

Is it possible to mount a 575 or a 570 piston and cylinder on a 372? I haven't had either the 575 nor the 570 apart yet

Perhaps this

375K piston and jug from the power cutter I dont think the 500 series cylinders are the same base

i dont think the XPW has any different engine.
Not a different engine, but it does have a differant cylinder with 4 more cc's.
This is not the 575 cylinder, thank god. Its also not the 375 concrete saw cylinder although it's based on it. In short the cylinder has 372 port time figures with the displacement of a 375.

They did it again

This is the kind of thing I was talking about with the 371-372 transition period

there are some oddball configurations made that do not show up on the documentation.

I wonder if the 372 will beat Michael Jordan's record for the most number of times coming back out of retirement in the USA.

Currently at 2? :buttkick:

How do you know this?
The 375 concrete saw is a de-tuned, slightly larger, 372, which makes about a half a HP less. If this is the cylinder, it's a step back, not forward.

The cylinder shows no difference in my parts breakdowns.
The cylinder/piston has a differant part number per Greg Grande.

My info comes form Greg Grande/ Baileys.
The XPW isnt detuned at all as it has the same port time numbers as the 372. I mentioned this earlier. The 375 doesnt have the same port time numbers as the 372 and as you mentioned is detuned.

So where are these coming from? I thought the last load at Bailey's was the last load. Now the XPW's show up. Man, I keep toying with the idea of getting one before they're gone.....

you should do that :)

Sweden. From what my Canadian territory rep tells me they are still a production saw in sweden. Same as the 55 Rancher. It all has to do with emission credits for various countries weather they can sell them or not. This year in Canada these saws were available to us in our fall booking and now until our supplies last. Next year I guess it will depend on our emission credits. If anyone else knows exactly how the emission credits work, please feel free to explain.
