I'm trying to verify if the oil pinion worm gear original part was superceded to new updated design.

Also is the worm/pinion gear washer 50323-00-59 for the old style & not needed for new style? For this model I found both with/without washer, if so I'm guessing its friction bushing over the threads against worm gear.
So much conflicting info, diagrams & counterfeit parts, I figure I need to ask smart people.

Original- 50375-61-02
New-58227-01-07

One lobe is broke & no washer I'm getting oil but I don't think enough at high speeds with full open oiler, don't get consistent fling string. Does pump plenty spinning by hand.
Thanks!!

Washer is likely inside. You can pull the crank/worm gear bushing out and the washer will come with it. Lube and twist the bushing when you reinsert it or it’ll roll the seal lip.

I don’t believe the worm gears are interchangeable. Replace it with one like yours. One is plastic, the other has a steel tang

Exactly what I did.
The parts diagram was confusing, I assumed ( yep I know) that washer would be crank parts.
Found a gear at a local saw shop, he was actually bit confused by the washer on the diagram as well, apparently old diagrams he could look by exact model year. All working good except I need to open the tiny oil hole on the bar. Thanks kindly!
