Hey folks. Anyone thrown a fully adjustable carb and Max Flow kit on the new carbureted 462? If so, which kit and which carb and and how’s it running?

I don't think max-flow is making a kit for a 462. But west coast saws and a fell other guys are making foam filter options.

All 462s have carbs..you can get it in m-tronic or a standard carb model, I'm kinda confused on what you mean with the "fully adjustable carb on a carbureted 462" ?

It's my understanding that there's a Euro-spec model not available in the US that uses a traditional carb. That means there are part numbers available. I'm going to move this to Chainsaws because I'm certain that somebody there can steer you in the right direction.

Thanks for the assist- new to this site.

Just perused the Max-Flow site and didn't see anything for the 462. I'll check out West Coast.

Reread my post and the wording is a little confusing. I'm looking for the standard carb model and if there is a fully adjustable aftermarket carburetor for it (no limiter caps). I'm guessing Walbro would have it.

Go to your local stihl dealer and order one, stihl offers the 462 in m-tronic and with a standard carb as well.

Whoah, what's up with that? How are they meeting EPA regs?

Yer welcome!
I’m not certain if the epa has anything to go with mtronic or not. Maybe it’s just a convenience thing. They still need x amount of air mixed with x amount of fuel. It’s not like strato technology, where there is actually a fuel savings

That’s actually the only way you can order a new chainsaw right now through Stihl. MTronic orders are on hold until further notice

Wiring harnesses are nla at the moment because of the war in Ukraine. That`s the reason, because they come from there.

I'm glad that I've finally got caught up on all my saw purchases. I actually like the m-tronics and bought several in the last year, between the agency I work for and my side-gig.

As far as the 462 upgrades. I actually like the stock air filter on them. If I was going to go with a foam air filter on the 462, I'd probably do the Redbeard saws filter. I run a m-tronic 462R at work and the stock filter stays pretty clean, even when cutting burning trees and in ashy environments.

If we're talking non-air injected Stihls, like the older models or the 500i, I would definetely be buying a Max-flow. I run them on most of my Stihls.
