Does anyone have experience using the 5 two 1 mechanical advantage to lift and lower limbs, like fiddle block? Don’t have the money for GRCS

Way too many Connecticut members here. A clear indication of how flooded the tree business is in Ct..

But welcome Goodaking

Plenty of threads around, but what is the question??

Best with Porty with eye, to attach 5:1 to and to pull down purchase of line and capature on Porty, then extend jig again. Is best to do like this, so then can lower all of Porty, and not be limited to jig length for lowering etc. Where we couldn't get a crane, have even used a 1 ton to 3:1, to lift etc. Power is power!

yes but.......................

it is a small state with a large population.

not that i wouldn't like to see some of the competition go away.a lot of them are my friends though and i wish no ill will towards them.

Not to derail, but good point stihl. A customer said to me one time: "you cant swing a dead cat without hitting a tree guy". Lol, never heard that one before but it was pretty funny.

I'm starting to get sick of treework lately for just that reason, it gets annoying after a while. This is my 13th year in buisiness and it seems to be getting worse and worse, heck the recession dont even stop em from sprouting up! I wouldnt mind if any of em were any good, but these low balling hack jobbers are EVERYWHERE and they still take work from us and devalue the buisiness. One of em's ad says "half price treework with same day booking", thankfully I dont advertize in that paper but I feel for those that do. Its like they would do the job for free just to beat the other dirtbag's bid, lol.

I feel better now, rant and derailment over.

Where is'nt tree work flooded? let me Know so I can make some more money

It just seems that every other person in AS is from Ct.. Maybe we just have a high population of literate tree workers. Lately it also seems like every other house has a chipper truck in the driveway.

Taht is how it was hear, especially after hurricanes. So, we ahd less trees and more tree buisnesses!! This was especially true with folks jsut buying a stumgrinder and running around, though a year later, my buddy picked up 2 of those cheap!

Same thing here after the large ice storm we had a couple of years back. Market was flooded by tree services coming in from other states as well as locals who jumped in with ladders and power pruners. All of a sudden everyone was a tree guy. All of our emergency rooms were full within 24 hours with amateur tree workers. Not that we didn't need the help of outside tree services. We were overwhelmed with the amount of work. Problem is a lot of them came and stayed. And we still have a lot of amateurs running around with ladders and pole pruners... Where else are they going to make a hundred dollars a day!!! :chainsaw:

Equipment went cheap here afterwords as well.

I'd like to see just how many big trees they have in Iran. Somehow I just don't see a lot of 'em in the image inside me head. Can you bring back some pics when you're done over there??

:biggrinbounce2:

And for tree mds, I don't think the recession will do anything except make more hacks. People are hurtin' for money, so they figure with as much as those "tree guys" make, they can get a piece of it since they can start a saw. Then other people hurtin' for money hire 'em because 1/2 price tree work starts to seem worth the risk.

What was this post about again?

That is my main problem with the azzclowns that get in this line of work. They devalue the business. I don't care if legitimate competition comes to my town but don't come in here and get people to thinking tree work should go for $20.00 per hour then go broke and quit. We have this dumbazz guy here doing that right now. He will go belly up in a year or two. They all do. But he will leave a lot of people thinking they can hire a crew with a bucket truck and chipper for $65.00 a day.

Do they have any trees.

not a lot, that's why there is not a plethora of tree companies

I heard they are looking for some pruning work here is the job
