Got a 562 recently it hasnt been running right, wanted to let everyone know I have just found out why. There are two cracks in the intake boot, on each side the main intake pipe. Im praying my piston and cylinder are ok. I guess this is a fairly common problem. The video I included shows exactly how my saw runs, fine high rpm, but low and mid terrible stutter, misses. I took this saw to a dealer who had it for two weeks and said it runs fine, they didnt even hook it up to diagnostic. Im debating on fixing it myself, most likley I wont be able to get the intake locally and will still have to wait more to get it fixed, but if I can get a new intake I think I can get er fixed myself. Here is a picture of the 562 with a nk setup on it. I feel better and worse at the same time guys, a lot of dough already spent, but now I know the problem, I got some hope for this saw.

Yes I can see them, I lightly pushed at the cracks with a tooth pick and can clearly see separtion, they're cracks. I will have to try and get some pics of them tomorrow. I just hope no theres damage to piston or cylinder.

Hey, I just watched your vid and your saw sounds fine when you are on the gas like a saw is designed to be run. Then it sounds like you are trying to cut at half throttle. Are you doing so intentionally or is the saw doing that all on its own? I hope you get the issue corrected.

There is a new firmware update. If you send me the carb I'll do the update for free I'll also pay return shipping and see if there any codes.

I'm sending my chainsaw next week to the dealer for a fuel resset, hope.
The dealers can provide a diagnostics sheet/data sheet with all the information about temp., fuel settings, etc?

Thanks for reply guys, very generous offer backhoelover, thank you, i may just take you up on that. Right now Ive got to get a new intake on the saw, I really think it will be alright once its replaced. The carb will have to come off for new intake so would be good time for firmware update. Here a pic of one of the cracks on it. JTM, that video is not me, just someone on youtube who 562 is running the same as mine.

I blame myself for not seeing this earlier. I really thought there was something wrong with the autotune, I read the manual and it says after a couple fuelings it will self adjust, this my first autotune saw and was thinking give it time, but thanks to that youtube video of his saw running exactly like mine, his intake was cracked so I knew to get the flashlight out and inspect closely.

I'm having the same situation. My boot is all messed with cracks! I really can't see why they run with that much of a leak. Anyhow , did you do the repair? Also, how the heck do you get the intake boot out? I have the 4 intake bolts off and I think 3 of the plastic piece between the boot and cylinder. Thanks.
