I am about to order a 572xp, my local shop is sold out, but going to order one. The lightweight bar is about 100 bucks more than the standard bar. It’s going to be 24” .058 gauge.
Is it worth the extra? I have bigger saws to mill with, this will mostly be a felling and firewood saw. Husqvarna isn’t publishing the difference in weight. Also I have a dozen or more chains, do the 2 bars have the same number of drive links?

If you already have bars, you could buy just the powerhead from HL Supply and save a few bucks. The lightweight bars will be the same drive link count, and probably be about a pound lighter.

A pound does sound significant, of course it’s not all at the tip, but it’s hanging out there quite a ways. Who actually makes the bar?

Got it put together today. I have been told that the 5 series want to idle for one minute to calibrate. In reading the manual it doesn’t mention that at anywhere I have seen.

I let a rebuilt run for a while to let it warm up, your first cut you will hear it reccalibrating until it hits its sweet spot, there are vidios on this

Not that I'm the law in these matters but with any 2 stroke I let it idle for half a minute when cold while I get myself ready to work, then go about 1/2 - 3/4 throttle for a minute or two and then its WOT all day after that. 2 strokes love fuel and thats how they stay cool and lubricated. Same goes for sleds, bikes, etc and I've never had catastrophic failure of my own equipment.

If I didn’t have 3 bigger saws in the stable I would probably be very excited about it. So far I haven’t cut anything with it because I might just sell it, go back to the 562. I was really deliriously happy with that saw.

I put 25-30 tanks through my 572 and just never really cared for it. Sold it at a small loss.

I'd rather sling a 562, 372, or 390 over the 572.

It took 13 tanks for my 572 to come alive, never liked my 562.
