Have a Husky 575xp. Bought it new five months ago. Has been working great till recently. Having issue with parts on the clutch cover.

Everytime we use it, the adjuster cover (part # 537016801) splits and subsequently the adjuster screw (part # 537079501) snaps in half.:dizzy:

Again its out of service and at the dealer. They say everything looks fine. It looks fine to me also, but something must be off.

Attached is the clutch cover diagram. please hhhhheeeeeelllllllpppppp!!

Take it down to the local pawnshop, then, whatever they give yer for it, use as a deposit on an MS660.

thats starting to be my thinking. either a ms660 or ms460. Husky adjuster is very flimsy compared to stihl. never had any problems on my ms290 for 6+ years.

Ive never had a problem like this with my husky saws 372, 385

question for you are you loosening the bar nuts enough ?

Ive see guys snap the ajusters by forcing it because they didnt loosen the nuts

I own stihl and husky saws and theres very little difference between the stihl and husky ajusters, stihl is on the inside and the huskys are on the outside

and if forced they will break

I have had a 385XP, which I gave to my dad, a 288XP which I sold, and a Husqvarna 55 for a fencing saw. The 288 was more powerful than the 385, but both were reasonable saws, I preferred the 288. I have used a 575 at work a few times, and while I found it quite smooth to use, it was just too gutless.

I have a 66 and a 46 in the stihls, and I only got the 46 coz it was cheap. I had to do it up a bit, it had been fairly unloved for most of its life. Its a good saw, but, at only 75 odd cc, again, it just doesn't have the grunt.

MS660, the only way to go.... :chainsawguy:

btw: some people have trouble with the adjusters on the stihls, everytime I see it, its from getting jammed, and yanking on your saw.

I agree with kiwilogger. The only time I've seen troubles with the side tensioner is pulling on a pinched saw.
I owned 1 575 not a durable saw in my opinion.Blew it up twice in 5 months, when it went the 3rd time I sent what was left to a fellow member.
If you like your Husky's find a 372 or buy a 362 and have the dealer put a 372 piston and jug on.This is what I have been buying lately.

I'm afraid you may be right, we may be doing something wrong, but i know the nuts arent on tight, in fact they are just barely on. The only thing I can think is that it is getting on some wierd angle.

The main point is that it should not be that easy to break, no matter what. Never had issue with Stihl and the way its designed I dont see it being an easy break.

We've used it for 5 months with no issue. Guess we'll just have to be ultra careful, when i get back from dealer. I hate that. Toooo fragile in my opinion.

Johnny B Frustrated :chainsaw:

I got a new cover, mainly because dealers did not have the parts. That broke. Dealer rebuilt it, then that broke.

Maybe i'm trying to sabatoge myself. :hmm3grin2orange: wont be the first time. :deadhorse:

Guess i'll just be careful with 575, but cant run a tree service with that. Along with that saw and my others (ms290, 338xpt).....do you suggest the MS460, MS660 or other???

Bought the MS660 Tuesday. Awesome saw. Got 25" & 36" bars. Makes quick work of any cutting. Thanks for the suggestions. :greenchainsaw:

Havent heard anything from the Dealer on the 575xp.

comn on over anytime and....................

try the 395xp.you'll wish you hadn't bought that stihl.when your dealer is done with your 575 i'll fix it for you.

I've never owned a 395, but I have used one a little.

To me, it seemed like it revved faster than my 66, but didn't have the same grunt. Oh, and it still sounded like a husky/screaming child. :hmm3grin2orange:

interesting..........

i thought the 66 didn't have the grunt.nice saw though.i might just be to used to husky.stihl still makes a great saw.only hated one that i owned and it was an 025.
