Picked up my 576XP auto-tune from Spike60 in New York's beautiful Catskills a few days ago.. It was a toss-up between the 372XPW and the 576.. Since I don't have enough working brain cells to discern much of a weight difference, I went with the future instead of the past, and bought the auto-tune..with a 22" Windsor bar.
I won't be able to get this into any meaningful wood for another week or so, but I thought I'd take some pictures, and ask a question while it's still clean.

And now for the question of utmost importance...

What should I feed it?

Hell, that looks a lot like that 757 Shindaiwa that I just sold! It's a good lookin saw to me.

Use the HP Ultra. You already shorted yourself on the saw, don't do the same for the oil.:hmm3grin2orange:

Nice saw btw!

well they got it right in the past.i wouldn't worry about husky getting it wrong in the future.man,id like to break it in for ya :chainsawguy:
great looking saw.congrats!
let us know how she works out for ya.

update on auto-tune 576XP

So, BlacknTan, how's the auto-tune running? Have you had a look at the carb? What is the auto-tune feature? Is it a computer solenoid activated needle jet or what?

Thanks!

I'll probably get beat down for this but, I have the Ultra, Husky XP, and the Echo powerblend. Published testings and certifications are big to some people, not all, but some. The Echo has the best published certifications of the three on the bottles that I have in hand. If the others meet these certifications then why dont they print it on the bottle,it dont take much ink? Think of it like h.p. ratings and weight, if you've beaten your competitor with it your proud to display it. The Echo is what I use in my saws. FANTASTIC LOOKING SAW!!!

Good choice.

Now, about the oil...

Take one of the Stihl bottles, carefully open it, and pour it into a nice hot fire.
Take that empty bottle, and fill it back up to the same level with POLARIS VES GOLD, available at any Polaris dealer. You'll thank me.

Get the 50 Fuel premixed. It's specifically designed for chainsaws. I ran it against VP C12 Racing fuel with Stihl Ultra oil and I thought the 50 Fuel was better. I suggest you never use pump gas, even though the saw is setup for it.

I have one and love it. Wish mine was an autotune though. I would love a saw with a USB port.

REJ2, Echo sells Powerblend and PowerblendX. They are not the same stuff. I think they should differentiate the two more. Powerblend is not fully synthetic and does not have the same rating.

I just went and checked a bottle of the powerblendX, its marked premium synthetic blend. Do you mean that the powerblend without the X is fully synthetic? I dont know, just asking. I didnt know Echo had a fully synthetic.
The powerblendX bottles are marked ISO L-EGD & JASO FD. REJ2

How does the auto-tune feature work?

What's the electronic/mechanics of how the autotune works?
