Thinking of buying an old, but rarely used Echo 610 twin cylinder saw, for around $400.

Planning to use it with a haddon lumbermaker to rip boards and beams.

Good saw/Bad saw?

Biggest question: does anybody know what kind of carb came on these things? Will I be able to get parts for it?

Well i had a 610 My "personal" opion is that is was the worst saw i ever owned, Jut less wonder. Some people may like them I didn't.

I've never owned one, but what I've heard is: They're heavy, under powered, unreliable, but very smooooth. No way would I pay $400 for one. You could get a Stihl 090 off eBay for about $100 more.

John in MA is right. My brother bought two immaculate 610evlt's from a garage sale once. Thought that for $50 he had a deal since our old Echo 650evl would never die. Well they are smooth saws but both died within a few weeks! They were way too heavy and underpowered and we didn't even think they were worth an autopsie when they went. Many better saws out there . . .

You still have either of those knocking around? I've been looking for one to sit in the garage and look pretty.

You guys are absolutely right, incredibly smooth running saw. But, they are horribly unreliable. Great conversational pieces. I could think of 10 other great used saws I would rather plunk $400.00 down for.
