same here.

both saws are bone stock.muffler mods help but i hate the extra noise.

maybe we are getting lame 066s here because there is no way it had more torque than the 395 and the 395 was alot smoother and faster.rakers may have even been lower on the 395 because i just laid it on the wood and hit the throttle.i could feel the saw pulling into the wood and the chips flew!

was using stihl chain on both saws by the way.

Out of the box I did not care for the 660 all that much, that's why I sold my 660 and bought a new 7900 and had it ported.

I cannot tell a lie. My saw has been woods ported also. I use a woodsman full skip chisel chain always hand sharpened, as shown. As far as the noise goes, that is where the safety equipment comes in (ear plugs with muffs over them) makes for very little noise. I like to refer to it as music to the ears though.

Timberhauler - I'm still waiting on the 390XP test results. I think we are all curious to see how it compares to the 385, and since you have so much trigger-time behind a 385, you could give a fair assessment.
