He guys, I have an chance to buy a good 268 husky. How will it compare to my 670 jonsered?? Should I keep the jonsey and pass on the husky or are they pretty much a match. I like the jonsey, havn't had it too long to really get attached. I cut firewood with a buddy who has a 268 and it was an impressive saw. I think some more adjustment on the jonsey would make it better, seems to lack something at full bore. Any personnal experience with the 268 would be helpfull. thanks the Hoosier

Sharpen your chain it's a jungle out there!!

I've got a 268 xp-great saw. I believe that the 670 is the same saw in a better looking color scheme. BUY IT! You'll have 2 great saws that can interchange parts.

Depends on whether it's a 268 XP or the reg 268. all 3: 670, 268, 268xp are same bore and stroke, but 268XP and 670 have better breathing closed transfers for more power. Plain vanilla 268 has open or finger-port transfers, slightly less effective port area and duration, so it makes a little less total power.

All 3 saws have excellent reputation, but the plain 268 was a very popular saw in my area because it sold for less than the 272. Because of it's porting it was a torquey, forgiving engine...very much like the 365 of right now.
