Got my order last week from Baileys. I had ordered the Carleton Pro champ 18" bar with 3 loops of 72LG64. Got my order & was informed that the bars were sold out. What do I do with the chain now? Since I bought one of the HD Makitas I wanted to downsize my husky 455 to the 18" bar since the 20" is too much for it. Problem I have is I can't find a bar anywhere in the Husky small mount that uses 64 DL's.

I've been all over the Bailey, Amick, Oregon google search sites. Can't find anything with that combo.
Please Help.

I think my Jonsered 525 uses the Husky small mount bars too. On Oregon's site, the only bar that comes up is a 180ATMZ095 Laser-Tip and it says to use 64DL. Unfortunately, the same bar does not come up when using the Husky 455 inthe search. However, do a search on the 20" bars between the two saws, and the same bars come up. So, maybe Oregon's info is incomplete, and maybe you could use the 18" bar recommended for the Jonsered on your Husky 455. You better call Oregon and talk to somebody who actually knows something though.

I'm thinking you could use the same length bar, but with a Z095 ending instead of the K095 ending. You'll notice that on the Jonsered 525, the Z095 is a 70DL and the K095 is a 72DL. So on the 18" K095 you have 68DL on your saw, and maybe on the Z095 18" bar you'll use 64DL. You got a local shop that has one in stock? Try it out.

I would return the chains to Bailey's since I doubt you will be able to find another bar that takes 64 DL. I think they still have the 18" in .58gauge, and you could get their WP chain to match for about a few bucks more than the Oregon close-out loops. I think they would likely pay the return shipping since they did not know the bar was sold out at the time you ordered it.

I had a problem getting a 16" bar for my 254xp, Bailey's didn't have one.
My dealer had one of the "Forester" brand bars that fit. A few bucks more than Bailey's but not bad.

64 drive links sounds like a 16" bar, not 18.

Scott, I appreciate your reply. (Other replies also) Since the 64DL seems to be an oddball #, I wonder if I would be better off switching to a more standard set up?

Its not a oddball for us we have used that setup since the late 70's on our 112-120 Sachs-Dolmar saws was also popular on Homelite SEZ's and 150's

lobsta1,

Sorry for the mix up. We do offer a Windsor Speed Tip bar (our part number SVST 18 SJ50) for $33.95 right now. We have 6 in stock as of now. Hope that helps.
